It is now common knowledge that the VR46 team will enter MotoGP as of 2022. Having announced the partnership with Ducati, certain aspects are still to be clarified, not least the agreement with petroleum giant Aramco.

A sponsorship that has been refuted in a press release issued by the Brunswick Group in the UK in the last few hours. The release reads “Aramco has not signed any strategic agreement with the VR46 team or any other MotoGP affiliate. Aramco has never had any commercial relationship with Tanal Entertainment, MotoGP or any MotoGP team”.

Clarification from the Prince

In recent hours, Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Saud, head of holding company Tanal Entertainment Sport & Media, has stepped in to clear up the matter. “His royal highness confirms that, as already announced in the VR46 release of 24 June 2021, in coming days Tanal Entertainment Sport & Media will announce an international motorsport-related collaboration with related details of the project with VR46 in the MotoGP world championship", a note reads.

So we will have to wait a few more days to learn more about the details of an operation that has been somewhat lacking on the communications front.
